삼성장군의 영예를 스스로 내려놓으시고
중령의 계급장으로 머나먼 이 땅에 서신 랄프 몽클라르 장군

한 사람의 병사이기를 자처하셨습니다.
당신이 지켜주신 자유와 평화 위에 선 우리는
당신께 영원한 감사와 경의를 바칩니다.

In Honor of General Monclar
He laid down his stars and crossed the ocean.A French war hero who endured two World Wars,
he relinquished the honor of a three-star general
and came to this distant land bearing the insignia of a lieutenant colonel— Ralph Monclar.
At Chipyong-ni, February 1951,
before the freedom of a small and unknown nation,
he chose to be a soldier among soldiers.
We, who stand upon the freedom and peace he defended,
offer our eternal gratitude and deepest respect.
